Let me just tell you about the time I went to phoenix and had the worst time ever. I’m currently stranded at PHX after having spent a weekend living in the nation’s biggest frat house with a sibling who called records “a dumb hipster thing to throw away money on”. Pause and mourn for humanity for a moment. Okay, we good? Anyway, I was almost raped by a fellow who decided to walk with me and confess all his favorite ways of meeting victims because YES, he decided to confide in me that he was a convicted rapist. So I go to the venue early and drink my life away only to meet a dreamboat who didn’t end up going to the show (at least he bought me booze) whose number I washed off my hand. We could’ve been pirates, missed opportunity of a lifetime. So after that heart wrenching moment (I’m really not too bummed about it since he didn’t even have good taste enough to stay for Jenny) it’s finally time for the show. Thank the universe for Jenny Owen Youngs guys, because she is a fucking magician. She took my awful day and turned it into the best two hours ever. The moral of this story is that you should all go to her shows because I told you to and what I saw on this blog while you’re reading it is law. THE LAW, guys.
